The Students Organizing the Multiple Arts:
Our club’s purpose is to organize events on campus with a focus on:
(a) Showcasing student and local art of all kinds (Music, Visual Arts, Film, Theater, Comedy, Spoken Word, Dance, etc.)
(b) Integrating/combining the arts in our events.
(c) Fostering a community for artists and art appreciators alike.
If you would like to help Penn State and your fellow students, then Join SOMA!
>FOUNDING STATEMENT:
May 2005:
“We created SOMA for all those at Penn State that wonder what fun, creative, and fresh things are going on at Penn State. For all those who have been playing in bands their whole lives and have been wondering where all the other bands are at Penn State. For all those art students that have been dying to share their artwork and who can’t because they can’t get a panel in the art show (are their even any art shows at Penn State?). For all those who have made their films and now just need an audience. For all those who want to help Penn State. This is your place.”
